I have usb powered speakers and they drain enough power to make the speakers light dim, so i got a dual usb cable so i can hook it up to two usb's at once and double the amps, but i cannot get the laptop to turn on the second usb port cuz it of course does not see anything plugged into it, pleeaasse help.

Consider a powered hub instead.

Most bios's control the usb if an option, might be an acpi function if laptop. Some laptops are very stingy on power.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Yup!

The powered hub suggestion is by far a better solution & it doesn't cost hardly anything.
