First see this & believe - M$ is now giving you ...

Vista Downgrade Rights

.. when you buy new PC with preloaded Vista. You're now free to get rid of it legally - with MS blessings.

Next read today's blog about it
HERE.

What's going on with Redmond, anyone know?

IMO, this "downgrade rights" soap opera is quite ballsy on M$' part. But as always, the Vole is a swiftly moving target.

Instead of looking at the growing downgrade trend as an embarrasing blight on Vista - they are putting a friggin' spin on it .... like what are they going to do - prohibit folks from downgrading at gun point .... LOL

I really don't see why this would bother MS, considering if people bought a system with Vista on it and wanted xp instead, those people will more then likely go buy a copy of XP which puts money in MS's pocket either way.

Well they sure have done SOMETHING to loosen activation rules.

I've been experimenting so much in the past while with vista 32, vista 64, XP, dual boot, triple boot...etc, that the last time I tried to install office 2003, the activation said... sorry guy, you've hit your limit.

After reading this thread I tried again to install to vista 64 and the activation went through without a hitch.

Thanks XPUSER... you saved me some money! I thought that I was going to get stuck buying office 2007.
