loud pop when windows loads

Specs: Windows Vista
New build, Asrock G-41 Motherboard, core 2Duo,7900GS Video. When Vista loads,a short loud raspy pop is heard. Does not happen on a restart or coming out of the setup utility. Does not change much with either the Realtek Driver or Microsoft Driver. Once the computer is started, sound is normal. Same with or without Subwoofer connected. I'm thinking software conflict or ground problem. And,yes I have checked all my connections to and from the motherboard. Speakers are connected to lime green, Stereo, No sub. No crashes, blue screens, just a normal computer after start. Thanks, Mitch

It kinda sounds like a DC (direct current) offset issue that was associated with older sound cards. It could be a damaged card (or sound chip if its built on the MB) or possibly a power supply issue. You might try a different card and see if thats the issue.
