Lost my desktop Icons on Vista PC
(right clicking to solve this problem doesnot work !)

i dont know if these are the solution you are looking for but anyway try them out and let me know:
desktop icons stop working after sp1

restore the position of desktop icons

let me know if it worked and if i understood your issue correctly

first option didnot work

BUT 2nd one did the job after i doubleclicked the Layout.reg file

Thanks a lot friend !!!

i also looked at a solution of
tech-recipes.com Howto Rebuild the
Icon Cache but i couldnot find the
Iconcache.db file

(Dutch Vista SP1 is my OS)
