Comment:

I use the Windows Help and Support facility frequently and in the last two days I have noticed that all the icons accompanying the links have disappeared and are now replaced by small red Xs. Can I recover these icons easily?

Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!

Also bookmark the following link - it will show you how to harvest icons from your system and the internet, how to refresh and rebuild the icon cache to restore your icons, and how to retain your designated icons.

Thankyou fellows... I'll give the links a shot later this morning and come back.

Later...

Essentially both links describe the same operation which I tried and it works but the small icons in the "Help" section remain as little red Xs.

Thanks anyway, I guess I'll just put up with it.
