Locking Computer / Effect on Apps

Comment:
I have a TV tuner that we use to record different programs for our reps. When I lock the workstation, the TV tuner stops playing. If I schedule a recording that occurs when the workstation is locked, the recording will not take place.
Can anyone tell me if there is something in Vista I can check so the tuner continues playing/running when the workstation is locked?

Have you tried looking at the options for the TV tuner software, assuming you installed the software ? There might be a setting for allowing the tuner to bring the workstation out of a locked state.

Yeah I tried to find a setting that addresses this issue but was unable to find anything.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Set the computer to sleep but password protect on wake. That solves part of the probelem... for the other part.... In advanced power settings under "multimedia settings" you will see an option called "allow computer to enter AWAY MODE". Choose this option and the computer will continue to sleep but yet allow background tasks such as recording TV.
