When I open windows live messenger, the actual window doesn't show up; it's as if it didn't open at all, but opening task manager, I can see the process is running. I have tried killing it and restarting it, also a 'repair' on the install wizard, and completely uninstalling and re-installing the program, but still the problem persists. If anyone knows anything I could do that might solve this problem, I would be grateful, Thanks

How much ram are you running with? I had trouble while using 1gig and concurrently running Spyware doctor in the background WITH the User Account Control activated. No problem with 2gigs though. Worse comes to worse, turn off the UAC. It will make you more vulnerable to attack!, but if you are running AV with active protection you should be good to go. ~bc
