I am having problems with the printer when it was first purchased it worked now it doesn't want to it is not that old maybe 2 to 3 months. I have unhooked and reconnected it but i get the error message " cannot communicate with printer" it tells me to trouble shoot and check a bunch of stuff which i have done any one have any suggestions? Besides reinstalling it.

have you tried another cable? and did you unplug the power cable at same time you unpluged cable to computer and then plug cable into computer and power back up?

Yes i did its actually my Girlfriends computer i am trying to get working she went and bought a new usb i shut down the computer unplugged the computer and printer from the surge protector waited a few seconds then tried it again. I get the error "error commutating with printer"
