I have an Acer Aspire 4720Z, and the specs are: intel pentium dual core processor t2330 252MB mobile intel graphic 1GB DDR2 160 GB HDD Vista Back in Dec i had to format the HD because of a bad file in the OS. The last month, when I try to burn a movie from the factory installed program (or Nero), or plug in any kind of external device (i.e. ext HD) my computer shuts down unexpectedly. Any suggestions? They would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

My first suggestion would be to test the memory. Bad memory can also corrupt system files. Go here and download memtest86. Burn it to CD and boot from it. Let the test run for several hours, in case there are thermal issues. http://www.memtest86.com/download.html This might also be caused by overheating. It's not uncommon for the exhaust to become clogged with fluff.
