My lap top worked just fine in the morning and went into sleep mode. The computer was unplugged so there isn't a power surge issue. I've tried shutting it down by holding down the power key, I removed the battery and nothing seems to work. When I turn it on, it powers up and I can hear the fan working but the screen is completely black. No low light behind it at all. I also tried connecting it to my desk top monitor, but nothing shows up on that screen either.
My laptop is a Toshiba, I got it in 2007 and it has a LCD screen. Any help would be appreciated!!!

try the following steps. 1.remove the battery pack 2.press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. 3. plug in the ac cord to the wall and to your laptop, (make sure the light indicator on ac adapter is on) 4. press the power button once to turn on IF this process fails, more likely you have a motherboard issue. South Bridge chipset may need to be resoldering or replaced hope it helps
