Comment:

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7472. It was
working perfectly but then my brother put one
of those magnets that come in pairs and make
the noises when you put them together on the
back of the screen, i think he was rubbing
them on it. Suddenly the screen went blank,
even though the power remained on. I tried
turning it off and turning it back on, even
removing the battery to reboot it, but nothing
worked and the screen is still blank. I'm pretty
sure the magnet caused the problem, but is
there anything I can do to fix it?

... try hooking up the monitor again and try to enter your bios

... tap either "F1" key OR/

(1) Turn on computer by Holding down power button while pressing the ESC key.
The machine will beep, then display:
Check System, then press [F1] key.

(2) Release ESC key

(3) Press F1 key

... does the monitor come "on" @ all?

... if so you may have to still enable a setting in the bios

... my experience with Toshiba bios's is there ai'nt enough settings ...

... perhaps try tapping "F8" key @ boot-up selecting "safe mode" (with vga(?)

...or enable low resolution video

... try NOT to cuff your brother too hard!
