laptop saved vista to drive D...no space left

hi i reinstslled vista on my laptop after deleting most of my programs on my system. it saved everything into a file called "windows.old" and vista saved to drive D...i have no space to download ANYTHING and i just want to clear out my computer so it is empty like its new. what should i do?

... windows old is there when you upgrade say from xp to (or its your "old" vista profile) "vista" ... its there so you could revert back to the older system if you wish to ... deleting the "windows old" is an option or copy it to other media then delete it! . . ... Summary: Could set bios for sata to IDE. I might have left Vista and used a Virtual machine unless you are playing games or special apps. Also might need to slipstream xp to sp3 to get full drive space support...
