Comment: Hi, my sister just bought a new laptop, its a Sony Vaio with Vista Home, not too sure about the other specs yet. I have hooked up the internet for her on my home network, problem is when the laptop goes into sleep mode and then we wake it up, the internet stops working.. ZoneAlarm shows no activity going in or out, any ideas what this could be? is there some sort of option in vista that stops internet activity when the system goes into sleep mode? Thanks,

Reply: (edit)Whenever a computer goes into sleep state all network connections are first closed. By coming out of sleep the network connection is either (1) automatically reconnected (wired), or it must first scan for access point (wireless). i_Xp/VistaUser
