Specs: Vista, 2.8 GHz / 1560 MB
Ever since about a month ago I have been having a problem to where my laptop, right after the the loading bar( minus the windows logo). There are screen flickers, or just very small amounts of flashing lines across the screen, barely noticeable, but that may be the new screen. I am able to boot into safe mode, and it works fine in it. I have reinstalled the graphics driver, and done a system restore, but none the less, it still doesn't work. I have searched for what seems like forever, but I still cant find it. Any ideas?

If the graphics driver is "buggy" or "glitchy", re-installing the same one isn't going to fix it. You need to try either the previous driver (if you've recently updated it) or check for a newer driver if you haven't recently updated it.

If you want to try "rolling back" to the previous driver, right-click graphics adapter model in Device Manager and choose "Properties". Under the "Driver" tab, click "Roll back driver". (option won't be available if driver has not been updated).

Alternatively, you can download the latest driver from Lenovo support. Choose the most appropriate site:

You should also check Device Manager to see if any errors or conflicts are shown for any other drivers, as it could be some other third-party driver that's to blame.

Well, I cant rollback the driver because it is greyed out, and when I when I uninstall the driver in safemode, It starts fine, but I cant change the resolution and after I restart it, it gets the black screen again.

I am still trying to get this working, and I have been seaching for the past 48 hours on what to do, nothing is coming up. I have tried:

Updating the video drivers,
Uninstalling then reinstalling (works, until after login, then it goes black again)
turn all drivers off on boot,
disable the video drivers (only semi-permanent; cant change settings),

I know that it is the driver, because it boots into safe mode fine. The next step I will probably have to end up doing is reinstalling vista, but, I don't have the CD, and I am not really looking to spend money... I guess it goes away to the back of the shelf.

I have looked at other posts about this here, all them end up with no responses, by the way, same with other forums,
