My situation is I call a command to change my screen resolution to either 1080i or 720p with a click of either 2 buttons on my Remote Wonder, but the command does not execute. I tried using the actual keyboard keys (CTRL+SHIFT+P) and it still did not work. But if I double click the icon, the command executes just fine.
If I reboot, that usually fixes the issue. Sometimes logging off and on will do the trick.
The shortcuts for these commands are currently on my desktop. Usually they are Hidden but I have them visible when troubleshooting.
I just changed the shortcut to CTRL+ALT+P and now it executes just fine. I changed from SHIFT to ALT as part of the shortcut key because Windows Help states "You cannot use the ESC, ENTER, TAB, SPACEBAR, PRINT SCREEN, SHIFT, or BACKSPACE keys to create a keyboard shortcut." (even though the entry was accepted when I created the original shortcut)
I will leave it like this and see if the problem reoccurs.
After 1 more test, it stopped working again!! I am so stumped.
I recreated them again and this time I did not mark the shortcuts as hidden. Working fine past the first test now. Will wait and see. Can't I hide a shortcut and still use its shortcut key? It's usually fine ..until now it seems ....
