Hi,
Recently my computer has started running
really slow. I looked at the task manager and
found 2 processes running titled Kaspersky
AV scanner. I removed Kaspersky from my
computer almost a year ago though. I tried to
end the processes and I got an error message
saying access denied. I also tried searching
my computer for any files with the name
Kaspersky and nothing showed up. I have run
ZoneAlarm and Glary Utilities but neither one
of them are picking anything up. Any idea
what this file is and how I can get rid of it? I
am running Windows Vista. Thanks!

Have you tried to use a registry cleaner?

Hello Teemya ,
First go to start , run , and type msconfig , startup tab , and untick anything to do with KAV , reboot .
next download Runscanner ( It's free ) tick the box to the left of any entries the relate to KAV , or any other program that you no longer have , then click the fix box at the top .
http://www.runscanner.net/download....
The Reg cleaner that comes with CCleaner is fairly safe , I find , but many are not !
http://www.ccleaner.com/download
The KAV removal tool can be found here
http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?q...
But one would have to reinstall KAV first and then uninstall .
Good luck
...............

Thanks for trying to help. I have run 2 registry cleaners:
CCleaner and Glary Utilities. Neither one of them find anything
to do with Kaspersky. According to the Startup Manager and
my list of programs, Kaspersky doesn't exist on my computer.
The only place it shows up is in the task manager and it won't let
me end the task.

If you are using a version of Zone Alarm that includes antivirus then Kapersky AV Scanner should be there. Checkpoint either licensed the Kapersky AV engine or bought Kapersky outright for use in the ZoneAlarm app.
