Hi, TY for posting so soon. The thread I am Quoting is one of the ones listed by Computing.Net as a "Related Posts" entitled "Windows Vista Permissions" where it says that some folders in Windows Vista in Windows Explorer have a little curly up-arrow like a shortcut and cannot be accessed because they are only"Junction Folders" so that old programs that would normally use them, historically, can be redirected to the new Vista locations. Perhaps if you go back to thread/post no.528 you will understand this more clearly, as I may not be explaining it too well. TY again

I understand what you are talking about but the proper term to use is junction points (JP), not junctions folders. Also the 528 thread you speak of is HERE. As to whether or not you can safely delete junction points using Windows Explorer, you need to first tell us how the JP originated. Did you upgrade to Vista from an earlier Windows version?

OK go ahead and delete it using only Windows Explorer in Vista. If things do not look right afterward, you can restore the JP from the recycle bin. Otherwise flush out the recycle bin.
