I have Java 6 update 5-7-15 taking up about 400 megs of my laptop. Can I safely delete 5 & 7 and free up about 300 megs? I don't play games and I know it is required for some internet sites but 400 megs?

The simple answer is YES. All you need is the latest verion 15. You should use add/Remove Programs to uninstall 5 & 7.

Thanks, Tufenuf. It seems logical to delete previous updates but it's not a gimme. I would rather ask before I delete.

With all new updates Java will automatically delete the old ones (they didn't used to do this).

Thanks, Derek. They missed me twice. Maybe if I had waited, the next update would have deleted the old stuff.
