Most obvious solution is to shut down the laptop first. Anyway, it always do this? What mouse?

And to verify, this is your Vaio?

What is the service pack level of your Vista ?

If none, install SP1 and then SP2 and see if this helps.

well it doesn't always to that, when i first got the mouse it's fine, but just these couple of days it started doing that every time i unplugg, i alwasy leave the laptop to sleep when i'm done using it, cause if i turn on the laptop, it takes too long for all those thing to come up and it takes about 10 minutes before i can use the laptop, and the Vaio u have on the page is what i have.
i think i have service pack 3 for vista, i'm not sure.

Service Pack level of Vista is 2, SP2. You can easily check it. Right-click Computer in Start Menu and click Properties. There you have what service pack is installed.

Service packs, in simplest terms, cure problems that may arise due to software programmers errors and relieve incompatibilities that may appear due to new hardware that are manufactured after the OS release.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that you install service packs.
