Comment: I was just wanting some opinons about Vista. Would it be worth the upgrade if I use my computer for mainly gaming? Also I am not a big spyware fan and I have heard Vista is full of it and digital rights management. Do I really see any advantages to upgrading? Here are my specs. I have a Asus P4p800-E Deluxe motherboard an 2.8c intel processor. 1GB of Corsair Valuselect ram. Maxtor 500 GB S-ATA HD. Thanks in advance just wanted some opinions

Reply: (edit)For gaming, it's not worth it until DX10 games come, and you'd probably need to revamp your system anyway to be able to run DX10 games, anyway. Vista has spyware?! Uhh, no, if anything it's more resistant to getting hit with Spyware since UAC and IE protected mode can prevent that crap from getting on your system. Vista does have DRM code in it, but that has to do with playing back DRM'ed HD content such as HD-DVD and BluRay. TECH-NO-LOGICAL ROMANCE!http://www.homestarrunner.com/tgs12.html

Reply: (edit)Funny...all my apps aside from my old version of OEM Nero runs on Vista (technically, it did run on Vista, but I got warned of compatibility issues when I ran it). All my wife's apps run with it. Pretty hard to believe NOTHING is compatible with it. As for HP charging extra just for Vista issues, which I don't believe in the slightest, that's not a problem with Vista, it's a problem with HP. "Enough, enough bowing down to disillusion! Hats off & applause to rogues & evolution! The ripple effect is too good not to mention. If you’re not affected, you’re not paying attention!"
