Subject: Is this memory upgrade worth it?
OS: Vista Ultimate
CPU/Ram: Centrino Duo/1GB
Model/Manufacturer: Toshiba Satellite
Comment:

I have Win Vista Ultimate and XP Media Centre on a dual boot setup. Vista seems to be very memory intensive, so i'm thinking of a memory upgrade.

I'm thinking of upgrading my current laptop memory from 2x 512MB DDR2 PC4200 memory to a configuration of 2x 1GB PC5300 DDR2. Will this be a noticeable upgrade or is it not really worth bothering with.

Thanks

It is worth it - especially on the Vista side.

Cheers, may give it a try then.

Think i've seen Crucial memory which will cost me about £60, so it dosent seem too bad I suppose.

2gb of ram is the sweet spot for Vista 32bit. Adding 3gb of ram or more depending upon what you are doing with your pc may or may not make any diff then adding 2gb of ram.

I have a new Vista Computer with home premium not the basic the one with media. It has already 2 gigs of ram which I am assuming i s2 x 1 Gig. I saw 1 gigs on sale and was thinking of filling up my slots with 2 more1 Gigs making my computer have a total of 4 gigs which is what it holds. I guess I would see a difference on that also.. Rose
