Hello. I have a DYNEX wiress router and matching usb adapter for my vista computer, on a wireles network with a wired XP machine on a cable connection. When i use aol instant messenger on my vista machine, it blocks off my internet access, meaning i cannot use internet explorer (or firefox). Is it possible that this is a port issue? Any help please. great site, been using it for a while, love it.

Start by looking at the web based config for that router.
See also router logs and computer event viewer logs.
If firefox works until you try aol then I'd suspect a firewall rule. Might be blocking a jabber nic. Might be some kid next door trying to hack you wireless.
Consider a wired solution. You can get a wire pretty cheap.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.
