Internet goes in and out

In my dorm room, my internet connection constantly goes out, and it takes awhile for it to come back online. I'm almost certain it's a vista problem as my roommates (2 macbooks, 1 xp laptop) don't experience the problem. I've tried using different ports and wires, but nothing changes. I've disabled IPv6 and Network discovery but that didn't help neither. Any ideas?
