what would cause not being able to use internet explorer just suddenly stopped working! I am able to use firefox which I never had?????????/

... "never had" ??? ... someones (downloaded) used it and ticked a little box "use as default browser"

... seems to be the case... unless you rephrase your post!

... open/run firefox click "tools" (tab) then options> advanced > and under "System Defaults" tick/check (little box)
"always check to see if Firefox is default browser on startup"

... next time it starts "do your thing"
