Internet Explorer and redirecting from Google

Specs: Windows Vista
I wonder if anyone can help. I have recently tried to access my internet explorer only to constantly get the message 'Internet Explorer has stopped working' and the application then closes. Also, when i access the internet via FireFox I am continually bombarded with popups and whenever I do a Google search I constantly get redirected. I have tried countless programs such as SpyBot, StopZilla, Malwarebytes and also some registry repair softwares all to no avail. I have absolutly exhausted my knowledge about internet explorer trying to fix it and this is basically my last try before I take it to an expert. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Virus's are very difficult to remove sometimes. I'd think that a clean install would be in order. Then setup a limited account to use at all times. Install a good a/v antimalware app and install all up dates.

You should have the media or ability to return the system to OEM state. Be sure you are careful with any usb or other cd's or networked computers that may still contain a virus or two.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
