My Internet Explorer 8 has been working very very slowly...but Firefox works fast and well.
How can I fix Internet Explorer?
I tried re-installing it but its stopped working each time.

If you have one of the beta's it might cause that.

Uninstall IE8 and re-install with the newest version maybe.

Might have to go back to a restore point before IE8 and try it again.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

There seems to be a conflict between Ie8 and Spybot Search & Destroy.
You know the Immunize button inside Spybot, try and remove all the Immunized pages from it and Ie8 will work ok.

First, you need to scan your computer with good anti spyware removal tools like Malwarebytes or super anti-spyware removal tools in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking boot option.(Restart the computer and press F8 and select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking).

Second, you should optimize Internet explorer.

Open internet explorer > Tools > internet options.

You should remove all files, browsing history, cookies,
In advanced tab, click on reset.

Restart the computer and then check.

This procedure has sped up Internet Explorer 8
for a number of people. It involves using the DelDomains
package.
