Subject: Installing XP over VistaOS: XP/VistaCPU/Ram: 2Ghz/512mb |
Comment: I have a problem. I am installing a new computer in a store with Windows Vista which is not compatible with the polling software used to retreive data. I must install Windows XP. What is the best method to install XP (I assume I will have to buy the Full version-not Upgrade)on a machine that already has Vista on it? Thank you

Reply: (edit)You will need to eradicate Vista completely or have two partitions and dual boot. Also you will need a Full Version of XP.

Reply: (edit)contact the vendor, ask for XP instead rather than Vista. if crucial software is not Vista compatible then there is absolutely no reason for any business - small or big - to fiddle around with an operating which hasn't even left the beta stage yet (networking nightmare, driver hell, compatibility issues everywhere, resource hogging madness ... and the list goes on and on). get something you can rely upon, don't pay for being a lab rat!!! Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'
