Comment:

My pages keep freezing while browsing, and nothing I can do will 'unlock' it except for restarting.
Is this a problem with this model?

It is a relatively new Dell Laptop.

Many thanks.

Been happening since you got it - or has it just started? If the latter, any hardware/software changes? Have you got internet security (anti-virus etc)? Might be worth a full scan.

Try looking in event log (start typing ev in the search box, and it will appear above) for clues?

Is this internet explorer? Ie7 or 8?

If you haven't, try installing another browser - firefox, chrome, opera, safari and see if they're any better (when installing don't import anything from existing browser).

Hi,

Yes it is new about a month old, but it has only recently started doing this.
I have full security.
I have noticed that it doesn't like you to expect it to do things too quickly though.
Don't ask me too many technical questions, as I am just a bog-standard home user and not a techno head!

I haven't 'done' anything at all to it except add my desktop icons for my 'most used' items.

All those other things you mentioned just went over my head!!

Thank you for your reply.
Pats

Just try another internet browser then. Google for firefox, download and install it. When it asks if you want to import from Internet Explorer, select no. Then just run it for a while doing your normal browsing. If it runs ok, you can just carry on using it - it means something has happened to Internet Explorer. If its the same, you've likely go a problem with your installation. In this case you could try system restore back to a date prior to the problem starting. Post back if you need more help.
