Specs: Windows Vista, na
hello i am trying to recover photos from a hdd that i think has been part or all through the recovery mode (not too sure user says they clicked it by mistake)
i have took the hdd out of the computer (reason for this is person used recovery or part recovery and when i switch on comp it keeps asking to do a recovery)
and have it hooked up to my computer through ide/sata reading device through usb
anyway i cant see the drive (have done with other drives in the past but not this one) but in disc management i can see drive 6 and it says it needs to "initialize disc" but when i click to do this it says
the device is not ready
any ideas or anything on best how to try and get photos back

btw i have the recovery software as i have used it before no problem

See More: initialize disc

I'd put the drive back in the old computer. Boot to a live linux or barts cd and see if you can access the data.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, Make an autorun.inf folder on all usb drives.
