Comment: Hi all, Recently Internet Explorer 7 won't display any webpages. It just shows the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error every time. The perplexing thing is that the Internet connection is working and both Firefox and Opera can be used to surf the web without any problems. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Reply: (edit)Update: Firefox updated itself, and now it won't show webpages either. Reinstalling Firefox didn't help. Opera still works. Also, when booting into Safe Mode with Networking, all three browsers work.

Reply: (edit)Of course the easiest thing to do is a good old system restore. No matter how good you are at something, there's always about a million people better than you.~Homer Simpson

Reply: (edit)try to remove add ons on your browser or reset the web settings. open a IE7 page, tools>internet options>advanced click the reset button. If you, if you could return, don't let it burn, don't let it fade.

Reply: (edit)Hi all, I have the same problem on my mum's PC. IE7 simply won't connect to anything at all. Even trying to connect to the ADSL router fails. I have reset IE7 - even uninstalled and reinstalled. There are no addons to IE7. This is a real basic install. Firefox works fine but she still likes IE7 for whatever reason. Any ideas Craig

Reply: (edit)try to boot the pc in safemode with networking, if IE7 will display the web pages, then it is your firewall or the firewall for the antivirus program that you're using is the one blocking the connections. try to install updates for IE7 if available. If you, if you could return, don't let it burn, don't let it fade.
