On Windows XP when I go to IE7 and then to favorites, each listening in Favorites is accompanied by a graphic icon that is the logo for their web site, company, product, etc. In Vista a few of the Favorites listing (Computing.net included) do have an icon but most don't. As I dual boot, it is really interesting to see the icons in one and find so few in Vista. Is there a reason? I know Sabertooth would say "It's Vista"

The proper term for "graphic icon" is FAVICONS.
Of course that's Vista only if you use the Medium Icons or Large Icons. However if you use the Classic Icons the favicons will reappear once you revisit each individual sites. See url below.

Thanks for the education XP User. As long as I've worked with XP, I've never heard that expression. Will look into your link and certainly come away more educated than when I started.

We can all miss out on things but actually favicons were in use on W95/98. On there you had to grab them from TIF's, file them somewhere then re-target the Favorite icon. Otherwise they would revert to IE default on reboot.
