Comment:

I downloaded a free trial version of Norton Internet Security. Now when I try to open Internet Explorer, it says it's "stopped working." However, I've found I can open it when I open it "without add-ons." How do I fix this? Thank you.

if there is an allow programs list add IE to it if there isn't or that's no help get rid of the devils child Norton.

p.s. try FireFox it's so much its better than IE.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

You really don't need an Antivirus program with Windows Vista. If I'm not mistaken, they all come with Windows Defender as stock and able to operate IE in protected mode, along with a whole host of other security enhancements. To bug up a Windows Vista you'd have to be quite a person, and Norton has never done any system any good, anyway.
