Specs: Windows Vista, 40 gb/1 gb
I want to install Vista 32 bit to my dell latitude 610 . It has 1gb of ram. 56kb Modem.40GB Harddrive. Do I have enough hard drive and ram? Will I have to replace the drivers. I ,also have 64 bit Vista, can I do that instead of the 32 bit vista? Is it compatible with my lap top and will I need to upgrade my drivers?

Your laptop will run Vista, but not very speedily you can see the minimum specs required HERE - if you can add extra memory that will help (Go to Crucial.com & use their memory advisor tool to see how much you can add). Yes, you will have to get Vista drivers - check on the Dell website for your exact model so see if any are available, otherwise you may have problems, especially with chipset drivers. I wouldn't recommend 64bit as the only advantage would be if you had more than 4Gb RAM, but it's unlikely your laptop can take that much and you would have even more of an issue with drivers.

The Dell Latitude 610 will only take 2 gigs of RAM. And it's a 32 bit motherboard so you can't run the 64 bit version.
A 40 gig hard drive is pretty small, you may want to
get a bigger one if you want to run Vista.
You will probably need new drivers but it's impossible to say since you haven't posted what OS is on there now. I'm assuming its XP.
