I Need help, i replaced some dll. files!

July 11, 2011 at 11:25:12
Specs: Windows Vista SP 2, 4GB
I Tried to install a windows vista theme to change the old look:

And the read me told me to install this

I did that and replaced the 3 dll. files without reading the readme file properly!
And when i had replaced them the screen turned black and i got loads of error messages saying that diffrent dll. files are not made to work with windows. When i click ok, many times i get to the user page, i can log on with my password, and the welcome message comes up; then i get more error messages and the screen turns white with messages saying that Windows Explorer and Desctop manager has stopped working. and then nothing happens.
I cannot edit or replace any files because win.exp. doesn't work.

I tried reinstalling and keeping the files, but both my harddrives are almost full so i got a message saying that i don't have suffisiant space to keep the files.
I really don't want to loose those files, got loads of music, pictures, videos, programs and games on there. :-(

Any1 know what i can do to fix this?

Boot into the Recovery Console and install the correct .dll files.

My mistake- it's not called the Recovery Console any longer. But this article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/... shows you how to boot to a recovery command prompt. It assumes that you have a Vista install disk. If not, another possibility would be to use a live Linux CD to access the files and repair them.

Can you boot into safe mode?

Possibly F8

then copy files you need, then try system restore.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.
