I have a cd drive but have to boot it manuall

Specs: Windows Vista
Every time I log on to my computer i have to boot the cd/dvd rom manually by pressing F9 at boot..... I think my computer is thinking it is a external cd rom but it is all factory. What could i have done to make my computer do this.... I remember trying to save power by shuting down one of my usb ports but would this do it>>??????????????????

I'd look at two places in the bios. One is the boot order. Set it to the hard drive or a correct hard drive option. Second is sometimes where the order of hard drives in the boot order are. They may be in slightly different places.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
