You should not be able to access the hp recovery partition from vista nor should you be using it for storage at all.

Someone royally screwed up when they made that partition accessable to vista.

Did you delete the original data that was there?

To Wanderer,
can you please explain in detail. Actualy microsoft tech helped me to reinstall vista when they help me correct various problem. instead of correcting the problems were created more so they had sent me windows vista cd and helped me reinstall vista home premium again onHP reccoveryD-Drive my HP-M7690y computer. When i click on HP RECOVERY D folder ,IT says it is empty.
My computer runs ok but when i leave it for 10 minutesand videoscreen is on pause mode, when i come back i can not do any function tostart it, or use task master or anything as screen freezes. Also sometime when i am on internet , ti freezes out of blue and cursor wouldnot be screen at all . in both these incident , i had to close cpu and start computer in normal mode. It is working fine.
When i checked HP- recovery shows a small amount of free space available and internet and few other program shows higher number in processor uasage in task manager. please explain in detail what i should do. i am not understanding tech side of computer so you tell me and explain in steps whats to do .
