HP Pavilion notebook booting problem

Hewlett-packard Pavilion dv9700z noteboo...

Specs: Windows Vista
As of right now, whenever I try to turn on my computer, it loads as far as the HP screen, with the options for the device boot order etc., and then freezes. Pushing the ESC or F1, F2, or F11 several times quickly only results in that screen reloading. It won't load any further and won't let me access any of the menu options. Trying to load the computer from a boot disc doesn't work either, it still freezes at the HP screen.

I tried replacing the hard drive thinking that would help, but I still have the same problem. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

Call HP tech support. Sounds like a CPU is over heating causing reboots.
