whenever I press the NUM LOCK key, I get numbers when I press certain letters such as j, k, l, m, n etc. It is a pain to have to turn the NUM LOCK off, just to have access to the whole range of letters. Is there anyway to have the NUM LOCK key ONLY affect the number keys? I have tried pressing the Function key with the NUM Lock, the Shift key & Num Lock, Ctrl Key & Num Lock, ALT key & NUM Lock - but no joy. I have also tried all kinds of combinations of the above without success.
The model of my computer is HP Pavillion dv 9500 laptop and there are no numbers on the keys.
Any other suggestions or help is really appreciated ?
The is no way for selectively turn on NUM lock as you are asking. You shall just have to keep using the num lock button every time you want to use the numbers. or just use the top line of the keyboard for the numbers.
thanks for your reply .... but thats not how its meant to work is it ?? when Numlock is on you should be able to use the numeric keypad as well as the rest of the keyboard .... so there's definitely something wrong ... this have happened to other's I'm sure and there's should be a solution for this .... any other suggestions pls
