|By manually, do you mean the paper clip way? If so, then you do probably need a new drive, because the gears are most likely damaged. If you didn't do the paper clip way, here is how to do it:|
1. Get a paper clip and bend it out straight.
2. Look on your CD-Drive, do you see a little hole somewhere on the front of it?
3. If so, stick the paper clip into that hole and push hard.
4. If not, make sure nothing is blocking the drive, like a drive bay cover.
Do that and try to open your drive. If you can open, rescue your CD and see if there is something in the gears. Also, make sure your firmware in the CD-Drive is updated. On your computer's manufacture's website, they should have a driver for your model.
