Specs: HP BIOS
I shut my computer off last night and I turn it on today and it says Cannot boot from disk, insert boot disks. So I go check out the BIOS menu and no hard drives are listed. I select the first one and ask for it to auto detect it and nothing shows up. Haven't replaced anything, installed anything, or changed anything on my computer. Do I need a new hard drive and what causes it to just crash like that? It's not even a year old. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It's a HP Pavilion Model a6703w. And cables are not loose.

Because the computer is not yet a year old, I suggest you take advantage of the support you will have with HP. A support representative can guide you over the phone into determining whether or not your hard drive is faulty, as well as in getting you a replacement if it turns out it is faulty.
