hen I partion and format the HP a1720n computer (coming with preinstalled Vista home Premium) and try to use the recovery discs to re-do the system, it reports "This PC is not supported by the system Recovery Discs." I made the recovery discs as soon as I received the computer last July.
Anyone met similar problem? Please kindly provide me any hints.

Were you trying to create a multiboot system? The recovery CD you created is good as long as you don't alter the original HD partition geometry. This is by design. The only thing you can do is order a set of recovery DVDs from HP link below. The set will re-write the entire HD geometry to the factory installed condition and rebuild Vista.
