How to retrieve files saved on an HP D drive?

Specs: Windows Vista
Um so I have an HP computer running windows vista which recently got mangled and I had to do a factory reset. The system asked if I wanted to save my files (music, videos, documents etc.) on my d drive, and I click yes and it apparently saved. Now how exactly do I extract the files out of the D drive?

Sorry I'm not the best with computers =/

What shows up in D: drive? Do you see a D: drive? I think you should see it. If not then you may need to assign a letter to that partition. It may be a recovery partition that normally one shouldn't put files to also.

The crummy owners manual may or may not exactly tell where the files have been saved.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
