Subject: How to reset password, switch userOS: VistaCPU/Ram: 3GBModel/Manufacturer: Dell |
Comment: The previous user of a standalone laptop left a laptop with Vista to me. I do not have her password to log in. Can I reset her password? When I boot up the laptop, I only see her account picuture to input the password. Can I switch to administrator account because I know the administrator password. How can I switch to other users? I know XP, I can click ctrl, alt, del to get to another login format. Thanks

Reply: (edit)Did the previous owner also provide you with all paperworks necessary for Dell (& M$ since they own the software) to verify & authenticate that you are the new owner? Dell is the only place that can help you out with this issue due to the laptop antitheft mechanisms built into it. i_Xp/VistaUser

Reply: (edit)No. I have nothing except the laptop now. Is it any way I can get the screen to allow me to put admin as user and input the password in Vista, like XP (Ctrl, Alt, Del). Thanks.
