Solved How to rename wireless SSID network name

Specs: Windows Vista
set up internet connection and set name, but my network appears as my SSID number instead of the name I chose. Is that a security risk? How do I change it?

No, it is not a security risk, but if you want to change the network name which appears in Windows, do this:

Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center

In the left-hand panel, click "Manage wireless networks".

Right-click on your network icon (SSID name) and choose "Rename".
