I had google desktop installed, but somehow
it disappeared. There is also no file in
c:\program files\google\google desktop with
which I could start the program again.Re-installing over the old files does not work as the downloaded setup file for google desktop does not run, but stops spontaneously.
In installed programs, I find no Google Desktop
Uninstalling with Revo Uninstaller, which
uses the programs own uninstaller before it
looks for remnant pertinent files, maps and
registry entries, hangs already in the
program's own uninstaller. So I thought to delete the map and the files
(bad boy) in windows explorer, but to do so I
needed permission, but how to get that ?Has anybody got a suggestion what I could do
to get google desktop installed and working
again ?Thanks for any help.

Well one reason Revo would hang is if the program or part of it was in use , whilst uninstalling look in taskbar or process explorer and kill any google process . You could " take ownership " of the folder and delete but that would leave waifs and strays on the registry that would be difficult to clean up .

Thanks for your answer. But I have a question. How do you take ownership of the folder ?
Well , you down load this zip ,open and run . I ran this about a year ago and it has been very handy.
