Subject: How to make vista look like xp?OS: vistaCPU/Ram: 512 |
Comment: I am considering purchasing a computer from a store which already has Vista Basic installed. I am used to XP Pro, and its interface. I briefly used a computer which had vista on it once. It was a horrid experience. I couldn't care less about the colors and such. It's the interface. Terribly dissimilar from what I am used to, and so uncomfortable (aggravating). Is there a freeware program out there which will make Vista's interface look like XP's interface? Thanks for your replies.

Reply: (edit)Next right click personalize look for background option then select Windows XP Classic. That's about as far as you can go to make Vista look like XP. The biggest difference you will be stuck with is User Account Control that should not be disabled. i_XpUser

Reply: (edit)So. The classic interface is basicly the smae as XP Fisher Price Interface. If you donlt like that then go buy an OEM XP copy.

Reply: (edit)way to go mr. cobra_r - in the process of being blunt and stating the obvious, you managed to neglect the fact that manufacturers are not disclosing non-vista drivers such as hp, compaq, and toshiba. therefore, you have might end up with a machine without some drivers.
