How to enable RPC again on vista?

I have somehow managed to disable the remote procedure call on my laptop and this is causing many problems. Does anybody know how to enable teh remote procedure call. Thank You

Start , search , services.msc set rcp to auto , that should do it .

the rpc is set to auto, but my norton support says that the rpc is still disabled??? I believe that this preventing my norton anti virus to work correctly

if its any more help it does not allow me to change any of the rpc properties where i right click on it

In services.msc is DCOM also enabled ?

I suggest that you uninstall Norton using the Norton removal tool and reinstall .

I did not know if RPC service is disabled, Windows can work and you can run services.msc.

Your problem may not be that RPC service is disabled.
