ie10 keeps crashing, so want to uninstall, but keep getting access denied when I try to uninstall, and cannot revert back to ie9 because of this.

Microsoft has stated that IE 10 will not work with XP or Vista. In fact, IE 10 isn't even scheduled to be released until 2013 so I don't know where you supposedly got a copy of it? IE 9 hasn't even been officially released yet, however there is an RC available for testing. http://windows.microsoft.com/ie9
I recommend that you stick with IE 8 until IE 9 goes gold.

I thought the same when Trickybee posted this thread. So wen't online a found IE10 downloads and more than one? Do you think its a scam or is it a Beta version?
It sounds like Revouninstaller removed it anyway?
Go to Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program.
Look for Windows Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 1 and uninstall it.
