how do I repair a corrupt file extension

July 20, 2011 at 05:08:27
Specs: Windows Vista
I was downloading IconPackager and kept getting an error related to the associated *.lib file. It seems Total PC Health is the program it reads as opening this file. I tried to change the association and made it worse, and *.lib is not the only file ext that Total PC Health has associated itself with and I don't know how to restore these files so that they open with the correct program. How do I correct this situation?

Open explorer, click tools, folder options, file types. You can change the associations there.

Perhaps the best first step is to uninstall Total PC Health - I've no idea why you think you need it.

Second step is to go here:

This resets any of the listed files to default. I would start with is the exe fix.

If this doen't help then follow the advice given in #1.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
