Use the scanner which is built into your printer. Lift the scanner lid and lay a document on to the glass, then operate the scanner using the "HP Solution Center" software.
The scanner will convert the document into a computer file which you can save in whatever folder you wish (but ideally you should always save them in the "My Documents" folder so you know where to find them, and it's easier to make backup copies if they are all in the same folder).
